To make Aliyah or to immigrate to Israel is a promise that’s very exciting and fulfilling in a Jew’s life. This is because it’s an ancient prophecy pronounced over and over in the bible. The term “Aliyah” means to literally ‘ascend and return to Zion,’ or to the land of Israel. Not a day goes by within which Jewish families don’t make Aliyah by returning to the land of their forefathers. Jewish thought is that this is the most satisfying experience in their lives because, at last, Erez Israel (meaning the land of Israel) and Am Israel (meaning the people of Israel) come together as in a marriage (Isaiah 54:1).
Since the rebirth of Israel into statehood in May of 1948; and even since the late 1800’s, millions of Jews from every nation under the sun have made Aliyah. The 1990’s marked the Aliyah of approximately one million Eastern European Jews as well as tens of thousands of Ethiopian Jews from Africa. Among all these immigrants have been the very descendants of Jews of Spain who are known as Sephardim. They have made Aliyah from every Spanish speaking nation including Mexico, all of Latin America and the Spanish speaking islands of the Caribbean. In fact, Jews of Spain and Portugal as well as other North African nations as well as Middle Eastern nations have also made Aliyah.
Dr. Sanchez has predicted that the descendants of Spanish Jews (Anusim) that were forced to convert to Roman Catholicism during the various Inquisitions, shall soon begin to trickle-in with the immigration process. He also predicts that this trickle shall become a stream, then a river and then a flood during the Messianic Age which is also known as the Millennium.
Of the hundreds of Scriptures on Aliyah, the one that inspires me the most is prophesied by the Prophet Isaiah and it says:
"In that day the Lord will extend his hand yet a second time to recover the remnant that remains of his people, from Assyria, from Egypt, from Pathros, from Cush, from Elam, from Shinar, from Hamath, and from the coastlands of the sea. 2 He will raise a signal for the nations and will assemble the banished of Israel, and gather the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth." Isaiah 11:11-12 ESV
